Expressions of interest are sought for the role of support worker at Horizon Life training. Terms and hours to be determined.

We are currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated support worker to provide direct and practical help, care and support to the HLT Residents on their journey of development and to help them learn the skills necessary to attain future employment.

Horizon Life Training is a Christian charity that operates to help former drug and alcohol dependents back into the community and work life by providing them with counselling, support, life and employment skills training, and facilities for work and recreation. This is carried out as a practical outworking of the Christian faith, operating from a residential care facility on a farm in North Yorkshire.

Charitable objectives:

1) The relief of the physical and mental sickness of persons in need by reason of addiction to drugs and alcohol, in particular, by the provision of counselling and support, and by the provision of facilities for work and recreation

2) To develop the capacity, skills and capabilities of such persons so that they are better able to identify and meet their own needs, and to participate more fully in society as mature and responsible individuals

3) The relief of financial hardship amongst such persons by providing them with accommodation and other goods or services which they could not otherwise attain through lack of means
